Stock Market Today: Stock market opened with decline, Sensex-Nifty suffered loss; Pressure on IT, auto sectors due to selling
Mumbai. After opening with gains in the domestic stock markets on Tuesday, major indices went into decline. BSE’s 30-share sensitive index Sensex opened 277.14 points higher at 77005.51. However, after some time it came under selling pressure. After this, the Sensex was down 201.16 points (0.26 percent) at 76,527.21 points.
The Nifty-50 index of the National Stock Exchange also opened with a rise of 85.80 points at 24,032.05 points and for some time it fell by 61.55 points or 0.26 percent and remained at 23,884.70 points. The indices of IT and auto groups are currently down by more than one percent.
Selling also dominated in metal, banking and FMCG sectors. There is a boom in health and pharma sectors. Among Sensex companies, shares of Infosys and TCS have fallen by more than two and a half percent. HCL Technologies and Tata Steel are down one percent each. Shares of Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries, Hindustan Unilever and ITC are also falling. Shares of Maruti Suzuki, Sun Pharma, Axis Bank and Airtel are in the green.
