Stocks in News Today: Adani Total, Amara Raja, BHEL, HUL, KEC International and more
New Delhi: The BSE Sensex surged 992.74 points or 1.25 per cent to 80,109.85 on Monday while the Nifty was up 314.65 points or 1.32 per cent to 24,221.90. From the Sensex pack, Larsen & Toubro, State Bank of India, and Adani Ports were the top gainers. JSW Steel, Tech Mahindra, and Infosys were the top losers.
Zomato and Jio Financial Services will be included in the 30-share Sensex from December 23, 2024. Markets were buoyed by the decisive mandate in favour of the Mahayito Alliance in the Maharashtra Assembly polls.
Adani Total: Adani Group’s French energy partner Total has paused investments into the joint venture over allegations of alleged bribery against the ports-to-retail conglomerate brought by the US SEC in a US district court.
Allcargo Gati: The logistics company launched direct delivery service in the Northeast via air route to Imphal from metro cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Kolkata, among others.
Amara Raja: The battery maker’s unit Amara Raja Infra said it had completed the set up of India’s first green energy hydrogen fuelling station for NTPC in Leh, Ladakh.
BHEL: The company’s consortium with Hitachi Energy India won an order for Khavda Nagpur HVDC (hight voltage direct current transmission) project from the Power Grid Corporation.
HDFC Life: The company reported some instances of data breach based on information from an unknown source. The insurer said its was assessing its potential impact via information security assessment and data log analysis.
THEM: The FMCG major’s board gave its nod for the demerger of its ice cream business, which includes brands such as Kwality Wall’s, Cornetto and Magnum.
IndiGo: The airline said it had inked an agreement for a codeshare partnership with Japan Airlines (JAL) starting from December 16, 2024. Flight bookings under this agreement will commence from December 4, 2024.
KEC International: The construction company secured orders to the tune of Rs 1,114 crore across businesses verticals, especially Transmission & Distribution projects in the Middle East and the Americas.
PowerGrid: The state-owned utility major secured a contract for a 3.5 GW transmission project in Rajasthan’s Renewable Energy Zone which will be connected with Uttar Pradesh.
