Storm and rain warning in Delhi, UP and 21 states
Amidst the scorching heat across the country, the Meteorological Department has issued a new alert. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain and storm from March 19 to 22 in a total of 21 states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar.
Weather Update: Amidst the scorching heat in the country, the Meteorological Department has issued another warning. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of rain and storm in 21 states from March 19 to March 22. People have been requested to exercise special caution during this period. According to the Meteorological Department, during this period there will be lightning and strong winds at a speed of 60 to 75 kilometers per hour. Due to the massive storm, the day temperature will drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
Cyclonic circulation is active at lower tropospheric level over western Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. Similar activities are being seen in eastern Uttar Pradesh and surrounding areas also. Due to this, there is a possibility of hailstorm in 6 states.
Weather in north-western India
Delhi
IMD has issued a warning of heavy rain and storm in Delhi on March 19 and 20. There is also a possibility of lightning falling. There may be a problem of water logging during this period. The maximum temperature is likely to be 28°C and minimum 17°C.
Uttar Pradesh
There is a possibility of thunderstorm (50-75 km/hr) and heavy rain in many districts of Uttar Pradesh on March 19. The affected districts include Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Agra, Mathura, Saharanpur, Badaun, Etah, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Bijnor, Bareilly, Sambhal and Jyotiba Phule Nagar. The maximum temperature in Lucknow can be 34°C and the minimum can be 19°C.
Himachal, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir
There is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in these areas on March 19. There is a need to remain alert in Kullu, Shimla, Mandi, Kangra, Chamba, Bilaspur and Solan districts of Himachal. The maximum temperature in Manali is expected to be -1°C and minimum -4°C.
Rajasthan and Punjab-Haryana
There is a possibility of heavy rain and storm on March 19 in Jaipur, Sriganganagar, Bikaner, Bundi, Bhilwara, Jaisalmer, Pali, Nagar and Barmer districts of Rajasthan. An alert of torrential rain and thunderstorm has also been issued in Punjab and Haryana during March 19-20.
Weather in Eastern and Central India
Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh: Heavy rain and strong winds up to 70 km/hr are likely at many places in these states on March 20 and 21. There is a warning of hailstorm in western and eastern Madhya Pradesh on March 19 and 20. There is a possibility of storm with thunder and lightning in the plains of West Bengal on March 21.
Western India and Maharashtra
Gujarat, Goa, Maharashtra: There is an alert of scattered to moderate rain, thunder, lightning and strong winds in Konkan, Goa and Gujarat on March 19. Strong winds with speed of 50-60 km/hr and gusts up to 70 km/hr are likely over Central Maharashtra and Marathwada on March 19.
Weather in South India
Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu: Light to moderate rain, thunder, lightning and gusty winds of 30-50 km/hr are likely over Kerala and Mahe on March 18 and 19. There is a possibility of lightning over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam and Rayalaseema, Telangana and North Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during 18-22 March.
