Story of new BJP President Nitin Nabin when he used to go from Patna to Gujarat for Narendra Modi.

New Delhi. Nitin Naveen has become the National President of BJP unopposed through the democratic process. He was made the National Working President (Construction Minister) some time back. It is a shocking thing for crores of people to suddenly call a minister from Bihar to Delhi and hand over the command of BJP. 45 year old youth president, road construction minister in Bihar, BJP’s Chhattisgarh in-charge, won five assembly elections consecutively, member of the National Working Committee of Yuva Morcha since 2008… Still, there is a question in the minds of people whether such a big decision was taken only to nurture Gen Z (new generation of youth). Is Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh behind this decision? In fact, Natin Nabeen has been a confidant of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the last two decades. Very few people would know that when Modi used to be the Chief Minister of Gujarat, it was Nitin Nabin who used to tell him about the condition of Patna. In other words, Nitin Nabin was Modi’s eyes and ears in Bihar.
In the book ‘Bandhu Bihari’ published in 2021, senior journalist Sankarshan Thakur has discussed the friendship between Modi and Nitin Nabin during the NDA government in Bihar from 2005 to 2013. Some BJP leaders were angry inside. Thakur writes that some leaders were angry believing that there is an NDA government in Bihar but they have been made Nitish’s ‘B’ team. Some of these voices were of party leaders from Bihar – like Bhagalpur MP Shahnawaz Hussain and Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
The appearance of the bus terminals of Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Sangrur, Patiala and Bathinda in Punjab is going to change, the government is going to upgrade it through PPP model.

Smiling faces, secrets deep! Know how the tiredness of looking happy is becoming a new mental struggle, people are suffocating with fake smiles

‘I am disappointed, the national anthem was not given due respect…’ Tamil Nadu Governor again walked out of the assembly.
Questions began to arise whether the party wants to remain a part of the Bihar alliance or not? Sushil Modi made it clear under which arrangement and agreement the government is being run and he even told his colleagues that he would like to know their views about those conditions, whether they find those conditions fair or not. His critics fell silent, but that didn’t mean they were happy. Instead of being controlled by Nitish, he wanted to keep Nitish under control. He wanted an important role in the decision of Bihar and its political discourse. Nitish did not even bother to consult him, leave alone listen to him on government and governance related issues. He was happy to manage things by discussing with Sushil Modi in Bihar and Arun Jaitley in Delhi.

‘Nitish kidnapped the alliance’

During that time, a BJP MP privately complained to senior journalist Thakur that what is the meaning of being part of a ruling coalition in Bihar. When I can’t recommend anyone for a small job, can’t get anyone a small contract, can’t get any troublesome officer transferred, then what is the use of this alliance? Nitish has hijacked this alliance and our leaders have allowed Nitish to do so. His colleagues in Patna were also equally irritated, but they had their own special funny tone of complaining that we are the impotent bridegroom of this government.

Nitin Nabin used to go to Gujarat only then

Some people like two MLAs Nitin Nabin, Rameshwar Chaurasia and Giriraj Singh, a minister in the Nitish government, had started spending time in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad as guests of the Gujarat government. Nitish understood very well why he was taking such a long flight and what message he was returning with. Narendra Modi’s game was on and Nitish didn’t even like to think about it but he maintained his composure, thinking that as long as there was no direct tampering from the Gujarat Chief Minister, why should he bother, but on May 10, 2009, the situation changed.

Call to Nitish in Ludhiana rally

Efforts by NDA to project LK Advani as the Prime Ministerial candidate were in full swing and in this connection, a huge public meeting was organized in Ludhiana in 2009 during the campaign for the Lok Sabha. Invitation letters were sent to prominent leaders of all constituent parties and NDA Chief Ministers. Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s K. Chandrashekhar Rao decided to participate in that meeting after separating from UPA. Due to this, new enthusiasm was filled in the entire group of NDA.

Nitish was hesitant in attending this rally because he was against sharing the stage with Narendra Modi. He requested JDU President Sharad Yadav to leave. Two days before the rally, Jaitley called Nitish and told him that Advani had a strong desire that he should come. Nitish did not give any definite answer immediately. Later Jaitley put Sanjay Jha on this work and Sanjay Jha finally succeeded in convincing Nitish. He suggested to Nitish that he would go by chartered flight. Will participate in the rally and will return the same evening. That’s it, it’s just that. Advaniji will be happy. Nitish and Sanjay Jha went to Chandigarh by plane, from there they left for the rally ground by road.

Modi raised Nitish’s hand on the stage

The Akali hosts had organized the Ludhiana rally in Punjabi style. It was a big and very noisy event – drums were beating, swords were shining, Bhangra dancers were showing full enthusiasm. Nitish, walking fast, had barely stepped onto the crowded stage when Narendra Modi came quickly from the other side, caught hold of his hand and lifted it up so that everyone could see. There was a wave of happiness in the crowd, the sound of thunderous applause must have felt to Nitish as if a fly had entered his ear and was fluttering. Cameras came out, pictures were clicked and Nitish must have felt as if he was being targeted.

Everything happened in a moment. Before Nitish could regain his senses, Modi left him and sat at his designated place on the stage. After the rally, when Nitish sat back in the car with Sanjay Jha, he started scolding Sanjay Jha. His anger was bursting. He said, ‘That’s why you brought me here?’ You knew what was going to happen, I was provoked and you trapped me. Sanjay Jha tried to pacify Nitish, but Nitish was not ready to listen to anything. He said that everything is deliberate, it is designed, tomorrow the same photo will be published in the newspaper, which he forcefully got clicked by holding my hand. I am strictly against this kind of politics. fall back

There was no further conversation between the two till they reached Patna. Next morning, when Sanjay Jha saw the picture published in all the newspapers, he realized that it had been used to trap Nitish. Nitish was seen waving hands in that picture.

Nitin Nabin was the leader of Modi’s hoarding campaign

In June 2010, just days before the BJP National Executive meeting in Patna, posters started appearing on the walls of the city. In this, gratitude was expressed towards Narendra Modi because Modi had announced a grand donation of Rs 5 crore for the relief of Kosi flood victims. On the eve of the session, huge hoardings were put up at important intersections of Patna to express gratitude to Modi on behalf of the people of Bihar. Many of these hoardings were sponsored by small leaders like Nitin Nabin and Rameshwar Chaurasia, affiliated with the local BJP unit. Modi was coming to Patna for the first time in many years. Modi had won consecutive elections in Gujarat and everyone in the party was organizing his felicitation. There was a sea of enthusiasm rising.

Nitish was not in Patna when the BJP session started, he had gone to North Bihar on a long phase of his development journey. Assembly elections were to be held within a few months and the ground had to be prepared for it. Nitish had assured Sushil Modi that on his return he would invite BJP leaders for dinner before leaving from Patna. Sushil Modi had suggested Chanakya Hotel to organize the dinner, where many BJP leaders were staying. Nitish did not accept the suggestion and said that he would feed them at home. It is not possible to have a friendly discussion in a hotel.

Nitish got angry after seeing Modi’s picture in the newspaper

An awning was installed on the green ground of Ane Marg. Space at the back was given for the kitchen and a menu of typical Bihari dishes – Balushahi, Belgrami, Khaja, Malpua and of course, Litti and Chokha…. When the newspapers came in front of Nitish the next day, he got so angry because of what he saw that he could not hold the cup of tea straight in his hand. Full-page advertisements were published in two big newspapers of Patna thanking Narendra Modi for donating an amount of Rs 5 crore to the flood relief fund.

Played in the name of ‘Friend of Bihar’

The names of the advertisers were not printed. In place of the name ‘Friends of Bihar’ was written. The name of the agency that issued the advertisement was Expression Ads which was based in Patna and whose owner was Arindam Guha. He worked in public relations and was a well-known name in the media and government departments. No one could hide the face of that advertiser. Whatever was printed on it in words was irrelevant – Nitish’s heart was hurt the most by seeing the picture in which Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar were shown holding each other’s palms up.

Nitish angrily called Sanjay Jha and said that now the dinner will not take place, take back the invitation letter. Sanjay Jha understood that this was not the time to argue or find out the reason. The Chief Minister ordered his domestic staff to raze the house and close the kitchen. Sushil Modi came to know that Nitish had canceled the dinner program…

  • Nitish got angry, how was it published without telling me?

Sushil Modi tried to convince Nitish through mediators, but the effort was futile. The wrong message would be sent before the elections, he argued. The Deputy Chief Minister knew that there would be no benefit. He knew that his boss was a stubborn person, now that he had taken a decision, he would not back down from it. Nitish said, ‘A wrong message has been sent, you people have sent it, how was all this published without my knowledge?’

The same afternoon, Nitish called the journalists who had come from Delhi for the BJP session for lunch at Chanakya Hotel for a casual conversation. As soon as Nitish arrived, he told that he had withdrawn the dinner invitation to BJP leaders and he would investigate how the said advertisement was published. This is a serious matter, it will be investigated.
