Taking a strict stance regarding law and order in the district, Superintendent of Police Aparajit Lohan has taken major action. The police station incharges of Makhdumpur, Kadauna and Paras Bigha police stations have been suspended with immediate effect for dereliction of duty.
This action of SP has been taken under the ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy implemented in the district. According to the information, during the ‘S-Drive’ operation conducted last night to arrest the criminals, serious questions were raised on the working style of these officers.
Makhdumpur police station in-charge Diwakar Kumar Vishwakarma and Kadauna police station in-charge Sanjay Kumar were found in the police station instead of being present at their duty place during the campaign. Instead of being active in the field, when his carelessness came to light, immediate suspension action was taken.
At the same time, the negligence of Paras Bigha Police Station Head Shyam Kishore Pandey was found to be even more serious. He was given the responsibility of verification of a murder accused Fantu Kumar, but he misled the department by giving a wrong report by declaring a dead person alive. Investigation revealed that the accused had died three years ago. Considering this serious lapse as unforgivable, he was also immediately suspended.
Giving a clear message, SP Aparajit Lohan said that policemen who play with public safety will not be spared under any circumstances. He said that the activities of all the police stations of the district are being continuously monitored through digital means.
After this action, there has been a stir in other police stations of the district and the officers have started completing their tasks on priority basis. Besides, the process of appointing new in-charges to the vacant posts has also been expedited.
This strict action of the SP is being considered as a big step towards ensuring discipline and accountability in the police department.
