Strict ban on making reels or short videos in schools, big decision of Delhi government

Delhi government has taken an important step to maintain discipline and educational environment in school campuses. The government has given clear instructions to all schools that students, teachers and other staff should refrain from making reels or short videos inside the school. In this regard, an official circular has been issued by the Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE), in which it has been asked to take strict action against such activities.

What was mentioned in the circular?

It has been told in the circular that in recent times, the trend of making reels and short videos for entertainment purposes has increased in some schools. In view of this, the department has expressed concern that such activities not only hinder studies but also have a negative impact on the discipline and dignity of the school. Therefore, the principals have been directed to stop this immediately and ensure that the school environment remains completely conducive to studies.

The Education Department has also clarified that there should not be any such activity during class time or in the school premises, which diverts the attention of students from studies. For this, the school administration has been asked to keep strict vigil and take necessary steps. The department believes that the focus of students and teachers should be only on academic activities, so that the quality of education is not affected.

Permission to make videos under special circumstances

However, video making may be permitted under certain circumstances. If a video is related to an educational, cultural or awareness program, it can be shot only after taking prior permission. Such activities should be done only under the supervision of teachers, so that it can be ensured that there is no disruption in studies and the safety and privacy of the students is completely protected.

Apart from this, it has also been made clear that no video or reel will be allowed in the school premises, which is not related to the curriculum or school related activities. The department has instructed all schools to disseminate information about these rules to students, teachers and staff and ensure strict compliance with them.

The government has warned that if any school ignores these instructions, strict action can be taken against it. The aim of this step is to strengthen concentration, discipline and educational environment in schools.
