Strictness in government offices of Bihar: Now salary will be deducted for coming late
Patna. Bihar government has now adopted a strict stance on the slowness and delay in work in the government offices of the state. Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit has issued clear instructions saying that punctuality will be ensured in government offices at all costs and strict action will be taken against those who are negligent.
If you do not attend on time, your salary will be affected.
The government has made it clear that if an employee comes late without a valid reason and leave is not available in his leave account, the salary for that period will be deducted. This simply means that now the delay will not be limited to just warnings, but it will also have an economic impact.
Salary will be made on the basis of attendance
Under the new system, instructions have been given to all departments to prepare salary bills of employees only on the basis of attendance records. If there is any kind of negligence in this process, then the concerned officers will also be held responsible and action will be taken against them.
Strictness on biometric system
The government has already implemented the biometric attendance system, but now instructions have been given to implement it more strictly. The attendance of all employees will be tracked through digital records so that transparency is maintained.

The Chief Secretary has instructed all the department heads and district officers to conduct surprise inspections regularly. If employees are found absent in any office or negligent in their work, immediate action will be taken.
Clarity in office hours
Timings have also been fixed for government offices. Offices with a five-day working week will operate from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, with a lunch break from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. The working time for women employees has been fixed till 5:00 pm.
At the same time, six-day working week will be applicable in some regional offices like Divisional Commissioner, Advocate General and Chief Engineer offices. Here the timings are fixed from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on normal days and 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM in winters.
