Strong rooms built at UP Board examination centers will be under 24×7 CCTV surveillance, more than 53 lakh candidates will be included.
Lucknow. The high school and intermediate board examinations of Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Council for the year 2026 will be conducted from February 18 to March 12, 2026. A total of 53,37,778 candidates are registered this year, which includes 27,61,696 high school students and 25,76,082 intermediate students. To conduct the examinations in a completely cheating, transparent and well-organized manner, a total of 8033 examination centers have been created in the state, which includes 596 government, 3453 non-government aided and 3984 self-financed schools.

State level control room inaugurated
Minister of State for Secondary Education (Independent Charge) Gulab Devi inaugurated the state level control room established in the office of the Director of Education (Secondary), Lucknow Camp on Tuesday before the examination. He said that as per the intention of the Chief Minister, this year the examination system has been made completely technology based and transparent. 18 districts have been declared sensitive, while 222 examination centers have been kept in the highly sensitive and 683 in the sensitive category. STF and local intelligence units at these centers will be kept active throughout the examination period and inspection of highly sensitive centers has been ensured twice a day.
CCTV and live webcasting in every room
To monitor the examination, two CCTV cameras with voice recorders have been installed in each examination room, along with which router, DVR and high-speed internet facilities have been provided. Live monitoring of the entire examination period will be done through webcasting. The strong rooms built at the examination centers will be under 24×7 CCTV surveillance. Apart from this, the strong room, question paper distribution room and answer sheet sealing-packing room of every examination center of all 75 districts will also be monitored online.

Appointment of state level observers
To keep the system strong, 8033 center administrators, 8033 outlying center administrators, 8033 static magistrates, 1210 sector magistrates and 427 zonal magistrates have been appointed. Besides, 69 divisional and 440 district mobile teams have been formed. State level observers have also been appointed from the government level for all 75 districts and 18 divisions, so that there is no laxity in conducting the examinations.
Control center from Lucknow to regional offices
Toll-free helpline numbers 18001806607 and 18001806608 have been issued at the State Level Control Room, Lucknow for the assistance of candidates and parents. Apart from this, toll-free numbers 18001805310 and 18001805312 of Secondary Education Council, Prayagraj will also remain active. Complaints and suggestions can also be lodged through email, Facebook, X handle and WhatsApp. Along with Prayagraj headquarters, control centers have also been set up in the regional offices of Varanasi, Meerut, Bareilly and Gorakhpur.
Special security arrangements to prevent copying

Special security arrangements have been made to prevent copying. Additional reserve question paper sets of all subjects are kept safe in a double locked cupboard for contingency. Special security features including serial number in four colors, Council logo and subtle “UPMSP” marking have been added to the answer sheets to eliminate the possibility of tampering. This year, for the first time, the UP Sanskrit Shiksha Parishad examination will also be monitored online.
Strict action will be taken against inappropriate activities
Under the ‘Uttar Pradesh Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024’ implemented in the state, there is a provision for strictest action if any irregularities are found in question paper preparation, printing, distribution, evaluation etc. The Minister said that malpractices in public examinations are injustice to the future of the youth and the government is committed to take strict action against such elements. Wishing all the best to all the candidates, he appealed to them to take the exam with confidence without stress and fear and take it as a positive opportunity.
