This also includes the observation that decaffeinated coffee also has some positive effects. For the study, researchers analyzed data from 14 studies involving about 9,550 patients with head and neck cancer and about 15,800 patients without cancer. .
People who drank more than four cups of caffeinated coffee daily were more likely than non-coffee drinkers. They were found to have 17 percent less risk of head and neck cancer. Also, the risk of mouth cancer was found to be 30 percent less and the risk of throat cancer was 22 percent less.
Apart from this, drinking three to four cups of caffeinated coffee reduces the risk of hypopharyngeal cancer, a type of cancer in the lower part of the throat, by 41 percent. On the other hand, drinking decaffeinated coffee reduces the risk of 'oral cavity cancer' by 25 percent.
