Anil Kapoor’s Prime Video Original film **Subedaar** has become the most-watched Indian Original movie on the platform in its opening weekend, according to Prime Video India announcements and reports (e.g., Zee News, Indian Broadcasting World, March 12, 2026). Directed by Suresh Triveni, the emotional action-drama premiered worldwide on March 5, 2026 exclusively in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu in 240+ countries/territories.
At launch it achieved record viewership in India, reaching 91% of pin codes and trending in the top 10. **Story**: Retired Subedar Arjun Maurya (Anil Kapoor) grapples with grief after his wife’s death, a strained father-daughter relationship with Shyama (Radhika Madan) and the challenges of life in general. Thrown into the difficult world of corruption and sand mafia (led by Prince/Aditya Rawal and Babli Didi/Mona Singh), he faces enemies beyond the battlefield in a story of duty, honor and family.
