Subedar OTT release announced, Anil Kapoor’s explosive action in the teaser
Prime Video had announced on February 11, 2026 that **Subedaar**, starring Anil Kapoor in a powerful action-drama role, will premiere exclusively on the platform worldwide on **March 5, 2026**. The film streams in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu across India and in over 240 countries/territories.
The official teaser released on the same day features Kapoor playing the role of Subedar Arjun Maurya—a retired soldier battling crime, corruption and broken family relationships in a changing society. It features tremendous action, emotional depth and themes like honour, duty, courage and social degradation in the heart of India. Kapoor gives a strong and powerful performance as a man who has crossed his limits, and is fighting the enemies within to protect his home and his loved ones.
Directed by Suresh Triveni (Tumhari Sulu, Jalsa, Daldal), the film is produced by Vikram Malhotra, Anil Kapoor and Triveni in association with Abundantia Entertainment, Opening Image Films and Anil Kapoor Film and Communication Network. It is co-written by Triveni and Prajwal Chandrashekhar and stars Radhika Madan in a pivotal role (probably as the daughter), along with Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Faisal Malik and Mona Singh.
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India, praised it as “a powerful action movie and a heart-touching father-daughter story” with Kapoor’s “tremendous performance” that the audience will love right from the start. Producer Vikram Malhotra emphasized the character’s core values—built on service, discipline, and sacrifice—that promise emotional depth and cinematic scale.
Shooting will wrap up in 2025 after outdoor shoots, and dubbing has recently been completed. Kapoor’s first big film to release in 2026, ‘Subedaar’ marks his digital comeback in a never-seen-before avatar, combining a heart-touching family drama with epic fights.
Stream it starting March 5 only on Prime Video—mark your calendars for this riveting story of a soldier’s fight outside the battlefield.
