Subsidy on maize seeds in UP, farmers will be given training!

Amroha: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken important steps to promote the cultivation of coarse grains. Special emphasis is being laid on increasing the cultivation of maize, so that the income of farmers increases and the trend from traditional farming towards co-cropping and new technology farming increases. For this, the Agriculture Department has started an accelerated maize development program in the district.

Seeds will be provided on grant

Officials said that it has been decided to cultivate maize on about two thousand hectares of land. Under the scheme, farmers will be given a subsidy of Rs 4600 per acre on Shankar seeds and Popcorn seeds of maize, while Rs 3000 per acre on indigenous seeds. With this initiative, farmers will get relief in farming expenses and the possibilities of increasing production will be strengthened.

Farmers will also get training

The Agriculture Department will provide training to farmers at the block and district level on new techniques of maize cultivation. This will help farmers to understand and solve the challenges faced in farming. DAO Manoj Tomar said that this training will ensure that farmers do not have to face any kind of problem.

Maize area will increase in the district

At present maize is cultivated on 1672 hectares of land in Amroha district, in which Hasanpur tehsil area is leading. The Agriculture Department will now try to double this area. This will not only increase the income of farmers, but the benefits of co-cropping farming will also spread in the district.

In this seminar, methods of increasing maize cultivation, grants and training were discussed in detail. After this, immediate action was started in the district.
