Success has gone to the head… Legal notice to Akshaye Khanna for leaving Drishyam 3, entry of Jaideep Ahlawat

These days, Akshay Khanna is garnering a lot of praise for his powerful role of Rahman the dacoit in his recently released film ‘Dhurandhar’. Even though Ranveer Singh is the lead hero of this film, the entire limelight went to Akshay Khanna. But his acting has won everyone’s hearts. The whole world is praising his acting and his scenes are going viral on social media. But amid this success, a bad news came that Akshay Khanna has backed out of Ajay Devgan’s much-awaited film ‘Drishyam 3’.

Now the film’s producer Kumar Mangat Pathak has spoken openly on this entire matter. He strongly criticized Akshay Khanna and said that ‘success has gone to his head’. Kumar Mangat told that Akshay left the film just 10 days before the shooting started, due to which he suffered a huge loss, hence he has sent a legal notice to Akshay and is preparing to take further legal action. Akshay has not yet responded to this notice.

Wig became the reason for leaving the film

Kumar Mangat told in an interview given to Bollywood Hungama that an agreement had been reached with Akshay. His fees were also decided after several talks and advance payment was also given. But suddenly Akshay refused to do the film. A big controversy was that Akshay wanted to wear a wig (fake hair) for his character. Director Abhishek Pathak explained to him that this was not possible because ‘Drishyam’ 3 directly connects to ‘Drishyam’ 2 and the continuity of the story would be disturbed. Akshay agreed at first, but later people around him advised him that wearing a wig would make him look smarter. Then he made this demand again. The team was ready to talk about it, but then Akshay said that he did not want to appear in the film at all.

How to change character suddenly?

Expressing surprise, Kumar Mangat said, ‘Drishyam 3’ starts from the same place where ‘Drishyam 2’ ended. How could his character’s hair grow suddenly? Is there any such technology in the world which can grow hair in minutes? He also told that earlier Akshay had liked the script very much. After hearing it at his Alibaug farmhouse, he had said that it is a Rs 500 crore film and he even hugged the director and writer. But after the tremendous success of Dhurandhar (earning more than 1000 crores worldwide), his attitude changed.

Have started considering yourself a superstar

Recalling Akshay’s old days, Kumar Mangat said that there was a time when Akshay had no work. Then he created Section 375 in 2019, in which Akshay got recognition. Even at that time, many people had warned that Akshay’s behavior was unprofessional and his energy on the sets was very toxic. Then he got a chance in ‘Drishyam 2’ (2022), after which Akshay started getting big offers. Before that he was sitting at home for 3-4 years. The producer further said that ‘Dhurandhar’ is Ranveer Singh’s film, ‘Chaava’ is Vicky Kaushal’s and ‘Drishyam’ franchise is Ajay Devgan’s. If Akshay does a film alone, he will not be able to earn even Rs 50 crore in India. Some actors do multi-starrer films and when they become hits, they start considering themselves superstars. Akshay even said that ‘Dhurandhar’ worked because of him. But there are many factors in success.

Jaideep Ahlawat came in place of Akshay

The good news is that Jaideep Ahlawat has now been replaced by Akshay. Praising him, Kumar Mangat said, ‘Drishyam is a very big brand. It doesn’t matter whether Akshay is there or not. By the grace of God, we have got a better actor than Akshay and an even better person. Jaideep has already worked in Kumar’s film Aakrosh (2010).
