Sudan: 10 killed in attack by paramilitary forces in central Sudan

Sudan : More than 10 people have been killed in attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF) on towns and villages in central Sudan. According to reports, Janjaweed militias “attacked the eastern region of Gezira state in large numbers on Sunday and Monday and massacred the towns of Tamboul and Rufa, as well as several villages.”

Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) took control of the city of Tamboul in central Sudan after RSF commander Abu Aqla Keykel surrendered his forces along with his forces to the SAF in central Sudan, witnesses said on Sunday.

However on Sunday evening RSF units counter-attacked the town and forced the SAF to withdraw.

The committees described RSF attacks on Tamboul and other eastern Gezira villages as a “reprisal campaign.”
