There was ruckus at Messi’s event, BJP lashed out at Mamata, Sudhanshu Trivedi linked it to RCB stampede

Messi Tour of India: Argentina’s legendary footballer Lionel Messi’s much-awaited GOAT India Tour is embroiled in controversy as soon as it begins. On December 13, the very first day of the tour, the situation went out of control in Kolkata. Thousands of fans gathered at Dumdum Airport to get a glimpse of Messi. At the same time, the streets of the city were also seen full of football lovers. However, what happened at the Salt Lake Stadium raised serious questions over the arrangements for this event.

Fans at the Salt Lake Stadium were hoping that they would be able to see their favorite football star for a long time, but Messi was present there only for 10 minutes. As soon as the audience came to know about this, the atmosphere became tense. First bottles were thrown and then massive vandalism started in the ground. The security forces had to work hard to control the situation.

BJP targeted Mamata government

BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi has strongly attacked the opposition parties regarding the recent incidents. He raised the question as to why chaos is seen again and again during big events in states where there are opposition governments.

Reference was made to the Bengaluru incident.

Referring to the incident that took place in Bengaluru after IPL on June 4, 2025, Sudhanshu Trivedi said that such incidents are not limited to any one place. He says this points to a pattern that cannot be ignored. He asked whether all this is not an indication that the law and order situation in the opposition ruled states is weak. People in power have started considering themselves above the law, which is extremely worrying.

Trivedi alleged that such incidents reflect the mentality of the entire coalition governments and their workers. According to him, this is a clear sign of disrespect towards governance and law and order.
