Sukhoi-30 fighter jet crashes in Assam, two brave pilots martyred, major accident near Tezpur airbase
News India Live, Digital Desk: Another powerful fighter aircraft of the Indian Air Force (IAF), Sukhoi-30 (Su-30 MKI), has crashed in Tezpur area of Assam. According to initial reports, the aircraft had undertaken a routine training flight but lost radar contact mid-air. In this tragic accident, both the pilots on board the plane have been martyred. How did the accident happen? Contact lost as soon as it took off from Tezpur: According to Indian Air Force sources, the Sukhoi-30 aircraft took off in the morning from Tezpur airbase in Sonitpur district of Assam. A few minutes after takeoff, the plane lost contact with ATC (Air Traffic Control). After a long search, the wreckage of the plane was found in a densely forested area. The Air Force has ordered a ‘Court of Inquiry’ to find out the cause of this accident. Did the pilots not even get a chance to eject? When there is a technical fault in fighter jets, pilots have the option of getting out through the ‘ejection seat’. However, considering the severity of this accident, it seems that the pilots did not even get a chance to recover. Air Force officials have reached the spot and started investigating the debris to clarify whether the accident occurred due to a technical fault or due to some other reason. Sukhoi-30: The backbone of the Indian Air Force, Sukhoi-30 MKI is considered to be India’s most advanced and powerful fighter aircraft. This aircraft, manufactured in India with the help of Russia, is equipped with ‘multirole’ capabilities. However, some incidents of crashes of Sukhoi aircraft in the last few years have raised questions on safety standards, on which the Defense Ministry is quite serious.
