Sunil Gavaskar changes his stance, predicts Team India’s win in fourth Test
Former player Sunil Gavaskar had stated that India can’t win the fourth Test against Australia. The loss of early wickets and a big total posted by the hosts were the reasons behind Gavaskar’s prediction. However, it took him a day to change his stance.
After Nitish Kumar Reddy scored a hundred and cut down Australia”s lead to 116, the legendary commented that India have a chance to beat Australia if the rivals are bowled out for 120-127 in their second innings.
“India have a chance if they repeat the performance of the previous Test against Australia. They will have to make sure that Australia don’t go beyond 120-127 mark in their second innings and there is possibility of the bowlers achieving it. They did it the second innings in Brisbane. If India are given a target of around 240, they can chase it,” he said on Star Sports.
On the other hand, former Australia player Justin Langer is backing the Pat Cummins-led team to take India’s 11 wickets in the second innings and emerge victorious.
The series is levelled at 1-1, with India winning the series opener by 295 runs. Australia bounced back in the second contest, registering a 10-wicket victory. Tte third Test was a draw in Brisbane.
