Sunrisers Hyderabad hand KKR a second successive defeat in IPL 2026

Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 65 runs in their second match of the Indian Premier League 2026. KKR have suffered two consecutive defeats in the 19th season of the tournament, with the first coming against the Mumbai Indians.

Chasing 227 at the Eden Gardens, the host franchise was dismissed for 161 in 16 overs. Cameron Green, their most expensive buy and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were run out, which derailed their run chase.
Raghuvanshi was the top run-getter, amassing 52 runs off 29 balls, laced with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Finn Allen (28 off 7) and Rinku Singh (35 off 25) added runs to the total, but their knocks were not enough to take the team to a win. Jaydev Unadkat claimed three scalps while Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ehsan Malinga took two wickets each for SRH.

Earlier, Hyderabad were impressive in the batting department with several willow holders showing their class.

Heinrich Klassen faced 35 deliveries to post 52 runs. Abhishek Sharma (48 off 21), Travis Head (46 off 21) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (39 off 24) also showed their class.

Blessing Muzaraban dismissed four batters while Vaibhav Arora got rid of two batters.

It was a much-needed victory for the Men in Orange, who lost to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the first match of the season.
