From North India to Eastern and hilly states, people are facing the brunt of cold wave, cold days and low visibility, but now there is hope for relief. According to the latest forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the intensity of fog will reduce in many states in the next few days, day temperature will increase and the effect of cold may gradually weaken due to sunshine.

 

At present, in states like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand, dense fog and cold winds in the morning are increasing the problems of the people. However, the Meteorological Department says that due to the effect of western disturbance, there will be a change in the weather patterns in the coming days. Exposure to sunlight, especially during the afternoon, can provide some relief from cold day-like conditions. At the same time, due to light drizzle and fog in some areas, traffic and health related problems may persist.

The first cold day of this season has been recorded in the capital Delhi, while the minimum temperature in many districts of Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand has reached below 10 degrees Celsius. The effect of cold continues even in the hilly states. In such a situation, the Meteorological Department has advised people to be alert, take precautions during fog and adopt measures to protect themselves from cold.

Today’s weather in Delhi

The first ‘cold day’ of this season has been recorded in the capital Delhi. The temperature on the morning of January 10 was around 6 degrees Celsius, while the temperature is likely to fall to 4 to 5 degrees at night. There is no possibility of rain in Delhi-NCR for the next few days. Dense fog in the morning can increase people’s problems but sunshine in the afternoon will provide some relief. The air quality may remain in the ‘poor’ to ‘very poor’ category.

How will be the weather of UP today?

At present, there will be fog in the morning in Uttar Pradesh but there is a possibility of clear sky and sunshine in the afternoon. The Meteorological Department says that the effect of fog will reduce in the next two days and a slight increase in temperature will be recorded. The weather will remain clear after light fog in Lucknow and surrounding areas. The maximum temperature can be around 21 degrees and the minimum can be around 9 degrees Celsius. Although there will be dense fog in the morning in many districts of Eastern and Western UP, there will be some relief from the cold due to sunshine during the day.

The effect of fog will continue in Noida and Ghaziabad also. According to experts, due to less wind and more humidity, pollution particles are trapped in the atmosphere, due to which the air quality remains poor. Health experts have advised children, elderly and respiratory patients to exercise caution.

How will be the weather of Jharkhand?

The effect of cold wave still continues in Jharkhand. The minimum temperature has gone below 10 degrees in many districts of the state. The mercury was recorded very low in areas like McCluskieganj and Khunti. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for seven districts of the state and advised to remain alert to avoid cold.

Today’s weather in Uttarakhand

The weather remains dry in Uttarakhand from mountains to plains. The cold is more severe in the morning and night, while there is some relief from the strong sunlight during the day. Yellow alert has been issued regarding fog in the plains. In Dehradun, Haridwar and surrounding areas, there is a possibility of sunshine throughout the day after morning fog, although in the evening the cold winds are increasing the cold again.
