‘Superfast’ journey between Delhi-Haryana! Work on 16KM long elevated corridor begins; The hassle of traffic jam will end from Rohini to Shalimar Bagh.
There is relief news for lakhs of residents of North Delhi. The elevated corridor project proposed by the Public Works Department (PWD) on Munak Canal is now going to gain momentum. According to sources, the Haryana government has assured to soon issue the necessary No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the construction of this corridor. After the completion of this project, the journey between Delhi and Haryana will not only be easy but will also become completely signal free.
According to the DPR prepared on the instructions of Delhi PWD Minister Parvesh Sahib Singh, this elevated corridor will be built from Indralok Metro Station to Urban Extension Road-2 (UER-2) located in Bawana. The construction of this 16 kilometer long corridor is estimated to cost around Rs 4700 crore. The special thing is that it is planned to be constructed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), so that it is in accordance with international standards.
Why is NOC of Haryana Government necessary?
Most of this ambitious project is on Delhi government land, but a large part of the corridor will pass over the Munak Canal. Since the management of Munak Canal is with the Irrigation Department of Haryana Government, it is mandatory to get NOC from there before starting the construction work. Recently, in a high level meeting held in the Home Ministry, Delhi Government raised this issue, on which Haryana officials have adopted a positive attitude and said that NOC will be given soon.
These areas will get direct benefits
This corridor will be completely signal free, in which ramps for climbing and descending will be provided at various important places. With its construction, lakhs of people living in Indralok and Sarai Rohilla, Keshavpuram and Trinagar, Shalimar Bagh and Rohini, Kanjhawala and Bawana will get relief from daily jam.
Request to NHAI to start work soon
Delhi government has also requested NHAI to start this project on priority basis. After connecting with UER-2 at Bawana, passengers will be able to reach the outskirts of Delhi and areas like Sonipat-Kundli of Haryana without any interruption. At present, due to heavy traffic on these routes, passengers have to struggle for hours, which will become a thing of the past after the construction of this corridor.
