‘Superheroes Are Done’: The Boys Unleashes Cataclysmic Series Finale Trailer

The Boys hints nobody survives the endgame untouched in haunting new finale trailer. Prime Video released fresh footage from The Boys, teasing one last collision between power, revenge, and total collapse.

The Boys Season 5 finale trailer released

According to @TheBoysTV on X (formerly Twitter), Prime Video released the final The Boys season five teaser. The post stated, “Can’t show ya much without spoilin’ the whole kit and caboodle.” Furthermore, the account added, “But Wednesday, we’re going all the way.” It later promised, “Til the job’s f–kin’ done.”

The trailer highlights Billy Butcher’s final mission against Homelander after escalating violence during the penultimate episode. Butcher says, “We need to end the whole bloody notion of Supes” during the teaser’s opening narration. Meanwhile, Ryan appears beside Homelander during an emotional confrontation involving their fractured family relationship and unresolved tensions.

Additionally, the footage shows The Boys entering the White House during a major confrontation against Homelander and Vought forces. The preview suggests Kimiko seeks revenge after Frenchie’s death during season five’s previous episode. Prime Video titled the finale “Blood and Bone” before confirming the episode concludes the franchise’s primary television storyline permanently.

However, several established characters remain absent throughout the teaser despite earlier speculation surrounding possible appearances during the finale. Creator Eric Kripke confirmed Soldier Boy will not appear again after season five episode seven featured his final sequence. Kripke stated, “Knowing that that was going to be Jensen’s last scene in the series, we wanted to put in one last reference” (via Collider).

Furthermore, Marie Moreau from Gen V does not appear despite earlier suggestions connecting her powers to Homelander’s downfall. Kripke also revealed the finale lacked adjustments following Gen V’s cancellation because producers expected future appearances from those characters.

Prime Video currently streams every season of The Boys before the series finale premieres on Wednesday.
