Supreme Court Grants Bail To Doctor Accused In Pune Porsche Crash Blood Sample Tampering Case
After granting bail to the father of the driver of the Porsche Taycan that crashed in Pune and claimed the lives of two young techies, the Supreme Court of India has granted bail to Dr. Ajay Aniruddha Taware. For those who may have forgotten, Taware was accused of participating in a conspiracy to tamper with blood samples after the fatal crash that took place back in 2024.
The Supreme Court of India bench, chaired by Justice B. V. Nagarthna and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan, granted Dr. Ajay Aniruddha Taware bail on the ground of parity. The court, in its reasoning for the bail, stated that several co-accused in the same case have already been granted bail; hence, the same applies equally to Taware.
What was the doctor accused of?
During the investigation of the Pune Porsche crash case, it was found that Dr. Taware allegedly colluded with other doctors and coordinated with hospital staff. He also conspired with individuals linked to the minor driver’s family.
At the time, it was highlighted that the blood samples of the minor occupant of the Porsche were deliberately swapped. This was done to show that there was zero alcohol in his blood to protect him from facing serious criminal liability. The prosecution claimed that Taware made false entries in medico-legal case registers, medical certificates, and blood sample labels to mislead authorities.

Some reports have claimed that he was paid Rs. 3 lakh as a bribe, and the money was routed through many intermediaries. Meanwhile, the senior advocate representing Taware in the Supreme Court stated that Dr. Taware was not on duty on the day of the incident. He added that he was on leave and, since his co-accused was granted bail, parity should be applied.
During this recent hearing, the state of Maharashtra opposed the bail of Dr. Taware. It argued that Dr. Taware was the key conspirator and that the other accused acted on his instructions. Prior to the bail, back on December 16, 2025, the bail pleas of the doctor were rejected.
Father and other accused granted bail
Earlier this month, the Supreme Court of India granted bail to Vishal Agarwal, father of Vedant Agarwal, who was behind the steering wheel of the Porsche Taycan electric sports sedan that killed two techies. In addition to Vishal Agarwal, the Supreme Court also granted bail to Ashish Satish Mittal, Aditya Avinash Sood, and Amar Santhosh Gaikwad.
Pune Porsche crash case
For those who may not recall the actual case, back on May 19, 2024, a 17-year-old boy named Vedant Agarwal, son of builder Vishal Agarwal, crashed his father’s Porsche Taycan electric sports sedan at a speed of 200 kmph into a motorcycle on which two IT professionals, Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, were riding. Unfortunately, both of them died on the spot. The incident took place in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, Maharashtra.

Following this, the heavily intoxicated Vedant Agarwal was beaten by passers by and was handed over to the police authorities. After the incident, what was shameful was that he was granted bail very quickly, and one of his bail conditions was to write a 300-word essay on road safety.
