Let us tell you that this petition was filed by Mumbai social worker ‘Santosh Daundkar’. The petitioner had challenged the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) clearance given by the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) for the expansion of Mannat. However, earlier the National Green Tribunal (NGT) had upheld this construction, against which the petitioner had moved the Supreme Court. The bench of Justice Surya Kant, Justice Jaimalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana, while hearing the case, raised serious questions on the bona fide intentions of the petitioner. The court clarified that Mannat is being produced within the limits of all applicable laws.
During this hearing, the court made strict remarks and said that if a person wants to construct additional floors in his house, then it is his personal right. There is no need for any neighbor or outsider to interfere in this matter. Now after this decision of the Supreme Court, the speculation about construction and renovation of two additional floors in Shahrukh’s bungalow ‘Mannat’ has been cleared.
