Big decision of Supreme Court on UP Madrasa Act, relief to 16 thousand madrasas

SC On UP Madrassa Act: On Tuesday, the Supreme Court has given a big decision regarding Uttar Pradesh Madrassa Act. After which 16 thousand madrassas have got great relief. The Supreme Court has canceled the decision of Allahabad High Court and declared the Madrasa Act constitutional. Allahabad High Court had declared the Madarsa Act unconstitutional.

Allahabad High Court decision canceled

Let us tell you that the total number of madrassas in UP is around 23,500, out of which 16,513 madrassas are recognized. Actually, a person named Anshuman Singh Rathod had filed a petition in the Allahabad High Court regarding the Madrasa Board Act. While hearing it on March 22, the High Court had declared the UP Board of Madrasa Act 2004 as unconstitutional.

Big relief to 16 thousand madrassas from Supreme Court

Besides, the students studying in these madrassas were asked to join normal schools. After which this decision of Allahabad High Court was challenged in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court completed the hearing on this matter on October 22 and reserved its decision.

Relief to 17 lakh students from Supreme Court

In 2004, when late leader Mulayam Singh Yadav was in power in UP, this law was passed in the Assembly. However, in March this year, the Supreme Court had put an interim stay on the decision of the Allahabad High Court. Due to this ban, studies were continuing in all the madrassas of the state. Now the Supreme Court has declared the Madarsa Act constitutional. This has brought great relief to 16 thousand madrassas. About 17 lakh students study in these madrassas.
