Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei ‘completely safe’, Iranian President’s son denies reports of injury
Dubai. Speculation over the health of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei intensified on Wednesday when the Iranian President’s son said he had heard news of his “injury”. Mojtaba (56) is the son of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in Israel and America attacks. Mojtaba has long been a mysterious figure in Iran. His father and wife were killed in an Israeli air attack on 28 February and the war started after that attack.
Since then, Mojtaba has not been seen in public and has not given any statement since becoming the supreme leader on Monday. Youssef Pezeshkian, son of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, shared a post on the Telegram app overnight, writing, “I heard the news of Mojtaba being injured. I asked his friends who were in touch with him about it. He said that ‘Thank Allah, he is healthy and there is no problem’.
A major clarification has emerged amid ongoing speculation regarding the health of Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei. Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian’s son, Youssef Pezeshkian, confirmed on Wednesday that new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei is “completely safe and well.”
Pejeshkian shared this information through a post on his Telegram channel. He said some friends, who have “contacts at the highest level”, had assured him that the supreme leader was healthy and safe and was unharmed.
Earlier, many international media reports were claiming that Mojtaba Khamenei was injured in the recent US-Israel joint air strikes on Iran. These rumors were further strengthened by his not appearing in public even 48 hours after his appointment.
However, after this statement from the President’s family, the uncertainty regarding his health is now expected to end. Mr. Mojtaba Khamenei has recently been appointed the third supreme leader of Iran after the demise of his father Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Due to the ongoing war in the area, strict arrangements have been made for their security.
