But he had gone to withdraw money from the Bank of Baroda ATM. During this, the person entered the PIN to withdraw Rs 10,000 from the ATM. Money was deducted from the account but money did not come from the ATM.

Hearing was not held even after complaint in the bank

The victim told that after the money was deducted on 18 February 2017, he had given a written complaint to the Dumbhal branch of Bank of Baroda on 21 February. After which emails were sent several times but the amount was not returned. The bank did not hear back saying that the transaction was successful. But Jatin did not give up and took the help of RTI.

Got justice through RTI

Jatin Patel took the help of RTI to get justice. In this, Jatin made both SBI and Bank of Baroda defendants. Jitan asked for CCTV footage through RTI. However, during this time the lawyer of Bank of Baroda replied that the money was withdrawn from SBI ATM, hence BOB has no responsibility. Footage was also sought from SBI but they did not provide it.

However, after hearing the arguments, the consumer court gave its verdict in favor of Jatin after a long wait of 9 years. The court ordered Bank of Baroda to pay Rs 3.28 lakh to Jatin.
