Tamil director Suresh Sangaiah dies due to liver failure in Chennai

New Delhi: Tamil director Suresh Sangaiah passed away in Chennai’s Rajiv Gandhi Hospital on November 15 due to liver failure. He breathed his last on Friday at 11 pm. His death was confirmed by cinematographer Saran, who has worked with the late director in Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu.

The director’s upcoming movie with Yogi Babu is in the post-production day. The last film of Suresh will be released on Disney+Hotstar. He is survived by his wife and two kids.

Suresh Sangaiah passed away

Director Suresh Sangaiah passed away at a young age after battling jaundice and succumbing to liver failure. He made his debut as an assistant director for Kaaka Muttai and his directorial Sathiya Sothanai will be released after four years of completion of the movie due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it couldn’t achieve commercial success.

Filmmaker Halitha Shameem took to X to pour condolences. He wrote in his post, “Shocked and saddened to hear about @sureshsangaiah’s passing. I’ve always held #OruKidayinKarunaiManu as a precious film and now with a deeper significance.” Several fans also expressed their shock at the sudden demise of the filmmaker.

He rose to fame with his film, Oru Kidayin Karunai Manu, starring Vidharth. The film was declared a sleeper hit at the ticket window.
