After India’s victory in the T20 World 2024, legends like captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had said goodbye to the shortest format of cricket. After which, keeping in mind the fitness, Hardik Pandya was not made the captain and this responsibility was given to Surya Kumar Yadav. Under the captaincy of Surya, Team India kept winning the series continuously, but as a batsman, he has proved to be a complete flop in the last one year.
If we look at the form of captain Surya, he played an inning of 75 runs against Bangladesh in Hyderabad in October last year. After which not a single half-century has come from his bat. After this, his highest score was 47 not out in 19 innings. During this, he returned to the pavilion thrice for zero runs and twice for 1 run. Apart from this, he could not even touch double figures ten times. His average has been only 15.07.
Surya’s bat spoke loudly in IPL 2025

During this period, he also scored 5 half-centuries with his bat. His performance is in complete contrast to the matches played for Team India.
