Suryakumar Yadav emphasises the value of Hardik Pandya’s all-round skills for India’s T20I success ahead

Suryakumar Yadav highlighted how Hardik Pandya’s return adds great value to India’s T20I squad, offering the necessary balance due to his all-round skills, which are vital in the shortest format.

Hardik Pandya is fully fit and prepared for his return to action after recovering from a quadriceps injury that saw him miss the Asia Cup final against Pakistan. He was also sidelined from the ODI and T20I series against Australia and the home ODI series against South Africa.

The return of Hardik Pandya provides India with an all-round option in both batting and bowling, strengthening their lineup. As they look to continue their T20I winning streak under Gautam Gambhir, the team is hopeful for a seamless path ahead.

“During the Asia Cup, as you saw, when he bowled with the new ball, he created numerous options and combinations for us in terms of the playing XI,” Suryakumar Yadav remarked in the pre-match press conference in Cuttack.

“That’s the value he brings to the team, his experience and the way he’s performed consistently in all matches, especially the big ones in ICC events. I believe his experience will be crucial, and his presence will definitely add balance to the side,” he added.

The Indian captain confirmed that both Pandya and the vice-captain, Shubman Gill, are fit and ready to feature in the side for the T20I series beginning on Tuesday, December 9.

“At the moment, both of them appear to be healthy and in good shape,” concluded.
