Suryakumar Yadav’s bat did not work in 2025, failed miserably against fast bowlers
New Delhi. For Suryakumar Yadav, hitting fast bowlers in T20 International cricket was a game of his left hand. They used to have the power to send the same ball across the boundary in any direction, but this is not the case in 2025. Suryakumar Yadav, who is called the new Mr. 360, has found it difficult to score runs against the same fast bowlers against whom he used to hit fours and sixes with ease in T20 International cricket. We are not saying this, but their figures are giving such testimony, which is a matter of concern for them as well as for Team India keeping in mind the T20 World Cup 2026.
Actually, Suryakumar Yadav has batted in 18 innings against fast bowlers in T20 International cricket in 2025. You will be surprised to know that he has been able to score only 122 runs in these 18 innings. This year he has faced 106 balls against the pacers. What is even more surprising is that 14 out of 18 times he has been out against fast bowlers. His average is 8.71, while his strike rate is 115.09. At the same time, the dot ball percentage is 50.9. That means this right-handed batsman is allowing one out of two balls to go empty against the fast bowlers.
Pacers were afraid of Surya, because he used to send the same ball across the boundary from fine leg to long on, on which he had the ability to hit a six in the off side. However, this is not the case in 2025 and Suryakumar Yadav is not able to accept this. They are not accepting the fact that they are out of form. Surya is repeating the same thing again and again that he is not out of form but out of runs. In cricket, out of runs is considered out of form, but Surya is not able to accept this. This is a cause for concern before the T20 World Cup 2026, because he is also the captain of the team.
