Suryavanshi honored with Rashtriya Bal Puraskar – Tezzbuzz

New Delhi, Dec 27:  India’s teenage cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi was awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar — the nation’s highest civilian honour for children — by President Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony in New Delhi on Friday. The accolade recognises his exceptional achievements in cricket and marks a significant milestone in the young batter’s burgeoning career.

The 14-year-old was unable to participate in Bihar’s Vijay Hazare Trophy clash against Manipur after travelling to the national capital to receive the prestigious award. His absence from the domestic one-day tournament highlights the challenge of balancing competitive commitments with national recognition at such a young age.

Suryavanshi has been in scintillating form throughout the season. Earlier this week, he smashed an extraordinary 190 off just 84 balls for Bihar against Arunachal Pradesh in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, becoming the youngest centurion in List A cricket history and surpassing several longstanding records, including the fastest 150 in the format by an Indian batter.
