Ingredients to make Makhana Cutlets

Makhana cutlet
  • Makhana- 1 cup
  • Potato- 4
  • Peanuts- 2 tbsp
  • Green chilli- 1
  • Green Coriander – 2 tbsp
  • Cumin powder- ½ tsp
  • Salt- as per taste
  • Chaat masala- 1/2 tsp
  • Black salt- ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala- 1/4 tsp
  • Kashmiri red chilli – 1/2 tsp
  • Bread crumbs- 2 tbsp
  • Oil – for frying

How to make Makhana Cutlet

  • First of all, fry the makhana in ghee. If you do not want to eat ghee, you can also simple roast it in the microwave.
  • After it cools down, grind it coarsely.
  • Boil potatoes and mash them well. Add coarsely ground makhana to it.
  • Add green chillies, peanuts, coriander, chaat masala, red chilli powder, garam masala, black salt to it.
  • Mix everything well and leave it to rest for ten minutes.
  • Make small balls of this mixture and make cutlets of your choice.
  • Now coat them with bread crumbs.
  • Heat oil in a pan and fry the prepared cutlets in it until they turn golden. Turn over and fry the other side in the same manner. Cover the plate with tissue paper and remove it so that the oil drains out properly.
  • Healthy Makhana Cutlets are ready. Serve them hot with chutney or sauce of your choice.
