Swearing in Assam today: Himanta Biswa Sarma said – The new team will work together for the development and prosperity of the state.
Guwahati, 12 May. Assam Chief Minister-designate Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday announced the names of four MLAs who will take oath as ministers along with him on Tuesday. At the same time, senior BJP MLA Ranjit Das has been selected as the NDA candidate for the post of Speaker in the Assam Assembly. Sarma said in a post on social media that former Union Minister Rameshwar Teli, Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) President Atul Bora, United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) leader Charan Boro and senior BJP leader Ajanta Neog will take oath as ministers in the new Council of Ministers.
Sarma wrote on social media that it is a pleasure to announce that the following four of my colleagues will take oath as ministers along with me in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday. The chief ministerial-designate also announced that BJP MLA Ranjit Das will be the ruling NDA’s candidate for the post of Speaker in the newly formed assembly. He further said that I am happy to inform that MLA Ranjit Das will be our candidate for the post of Speaker of Assam Assembly.
Congratulating the leaders, Sarma said that the new team will work together for the development and prosperity of the state. The BJP leader said, “My hearty congratulations and best wishes.” Together, we will continue to work diligently for a stronger, more developed and prosperous Assam. The swearing-in ceremony of the new government of Assam will be held on Tuesday at Khanapada in Guwahati in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Shah and several chief ministers and senior NDA leaders from across the country.
