Lucknow: The scheduled fourth T20 match between India and South Africa at Ekana Cricket Stadium was cancelled. This decision was taken due to dense fog and smog. The match was to start at 7 pm on Wednesday, but visibility in the stadium was extremely low, due to which even the toss could not take place. The umpires checked the situation six times, but in the absence of any improvement it was finally decided to abandon the match at around 9:30 pm.
Important decision of UPCA
Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has taken an important step to provide relief to the spectators in this situation. He informed on Thursday that all ticket holders will be refunded the full price of their tickets.
‘No additional procedures’
UPCA Secretary Prem Manohar Gupta said that those who have purchased tickets online will not have to go through any additional process. The refund amount will be automatically transferred directly to their original payment medium. Additionally, all information related to refund will be sent to the registered email ID. Viewers are advised to check their emails regularly so that refund information can be received timely.
Separate arrangements for offline ticket holders
A separate provision has been made for the spectators who have taken offline tickets. Such spectators can collect their amount from the special refund counter of the box office located at Gate No. 2 of Ekana Stadium on 20, 21 and 22 December 2025 from 11 am to 6 pm.
UPCA instructions
Physical presence of spectators will be mandatory for offline refund. They must bring a photocopy of a government identity card along with their original printed ticket. Apart from this, bank details have to be filled in the refund form and submitted. The refund will be transferred directly to the viewer’s bank account after the documents are verified. UPCA has clarified that all refunds will be made only after proper verification, so that no one has to face unnecessary hassles.
