Suryakumar and Dube felicitated by Fadanvis : After India’s victory in the 2026 T-20 World Cup, there is an atmosphere of jubilation across the country. There was great jubilation in Mumbai too. Indian cricket team captain Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on their arrival in Mumbai. He was honored for playing an important role in this historic victory. The felicitation ceremony was held at ‘Varsha’, the official residence of the Chief Minister in Mumbai, where both the cricketers were felicitated.

India clinched the title with a resounding 96-run win over the New Zealand national cricket team in the final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Both Yadav and Dubey were members of India’s 2024 T20 World Cup-winning squad, making them part of their campaign to win back-to-back titles. After this feat, Fadnavis praised his performance. Mumbai Cricket Association President Ajinkya Naik was also present at the event.

Motion of Congratulation in the Assembly
The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly has passed a felicitation resolution to honor the All India team for their remarkable achievement. Fadnavis shared this post in this regard. In which the captain Suryakumar Yadav and the team have been congratulated for achieving remarkable success in the tournament.

Both the Mumbai players performed brilliantly throughout the campaign. Yadav led the team at the top, scoring 242 runs in 9 matches at an average of 30.25 and a strike rate of over 136. His best performance came in the first match at the Wankhede Stadium, where he scored an unbeaten 84 against the USA to get India out of a difficult situation. Dubey also played a key role, scoring 235 runs at a strike rate of 169 and taking five wickets, particularly dominating the spin bowling in the middle overs.

India created history by defeating New Zealand in the final. Because the Indian team became the first team to win the T20 World Cup at home and the first team to retain the title. With this victory, India won the T20 World Cup for the third time after winning in 2007 and 2024. Chief coach Gautam Gambhir is also appreciative of this victory.
