This drama is being created by Bangladesh Cricket Board. In fact, amidst the atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh, Kolkata Knight Riders had thrown Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman out of the IPL on the orders of BCCI.

BCB drama continues before the World Cup

Since then, Bangladesh Cricket Board is refusing to play T20 World Cup 2026 matches in India. He wants all his matches to be held in Sri Lanka, for which BCCI is not ready. Regarding this, when BCB requested ICC that it does not want to go to India to play its matches. ICC has rejected this. This whole drama was going on for a long time. Now there is a new twist in it.

ICC gave guidelines to Bangladesh

The ICC had given Bangladesh a deadline of January 21 to resolve this matter. The ICC had asked Bangladesh to clarify its position by January 21 on whether it is going to come to India to play the T20 World Cup or not. If Bangladesh does not go to play India then the Scotland team will replace Bangladesh in the World Cup.

Scotland are the highest-ranked team not to qualify for the World Cup, so they will have to give at least 15 days to prepare. While Bangladesh wanted to change its grouping with Ireland, Ireland insisted that they were not ready to agree to such a proposal. Actually, Ireland’s matches are in Sri Lanka while Bangladesh’s matches are in India.

Arif Nazrul gave controversial statement

Amidst all this, Bangladesh Government’s Sports Advisor Asif Nazrul again indicated on Tuesday that they are not ready to change their stand when it comes to playing the T20 World Cup in India. Asif said, ‘I don’t know whether Scotland will be included in our place (in the T20 World Cup). If the ICC bows to the pressure of the Indian Cricket Board and tries to put pressure on us by putting meaningless conditions, then we will not accept those conditions.

He further said, ‘When Pakistan said that they would not come to India, ICC changed the venue. We have asked for change of venue on logical grounds and we cannot be forced to play in India without logical pressure.
