On normal days, fares for direct flights to Colombo usually cost around ₹30,000.
Fares for nonstop Air India flights from Delhi to Colombo range between ₹90,000 and ₹1.09 lakh.
Fares for nonstop flights from Mumbai to Colombo on February 14 are up to ₹90,000.
The main reason for this increase is the sudden increase in bookings after the match was confirmed.
Hotel rates also increased
Premium hotels in Colombo are charging up to ₹1.14 lakh per night for February 14 and 15.
Generally, room rates in big hotels cost around ₹40,000 per night.
Budget accommodations are still available, with small hotels and guest houses offering rooms between ₹2,000 to ₹3,000 per night, although availability is limited due to high demand.
