T20 World Cup 2026: Harbhajan Singh praised Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, said – showed mature bowling under pressure

After India’s thrilling victory against England in the semi-finals of T20 World Cup 2026, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has praised Team India profusely. Harbhajan especially praised the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, saying that both the players showed great maturity under pressure and played an important role in taking the team to the final.

In this high-scoring match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, India defeated England by seven runs and made it to the final of T20 World Cup 2026. Batting first, India scored a huge score of 253 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs, but England also batted brilliantly and made the match very exciting.

Harbhajan Singh while talking to ANI said that India played excellent cricket at Wankhede. He said that despite scoring more than 250 runs, the match was very close, but the intelligent bowling of Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya helped the team win.

He said that at the crucial juncture of the match, Bumrah bowled the 18th over brilliantly and gave only six runs, whereas at that time England needed 45 runs in three overs to win. After this, Hardik Pandya dismissed Sam Curran for only nine runs in the 19th over and further increased the pressure on England.

Harbhajan, however, also said that India’s overall bowling could have been a little better. Despite this, he said that the best thing is that Team India won the match and made it to the finals. He appealed to the team to play similar aggressive and positive cricket in the final also, so that India can get another ICC title.

In this match, Sanju Samson played an explosive inning of 89 runs in 42 balls for India. Apart from them, Shivam Dubey scored 43 runs, Ishan Kishan scored 39 runs, Hardik Pandya scored 27 runs and Tilak Verma scored 21 runs, taking the team to a strong score of 253 runs.

While chasing the target, England also gave a strong fight. Jacob Bethel played a brilliant inning of 105 runs in 48 balls and along with Will Jacques made a partnership of 77 runs for the fifth wicket. Despite this, the England team could score only 246 runs in 20 overs and India won the match by seven runs.

Now the final match of T20 World Cup 2026 will be played on March 8 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where India will face New Zealand. Team India will be eyeing to win another ICC title by winning this match.
