India received prize money worth crores

After winning the T20 World Cup 2026, the Indian team received prize money of 3 million dollars i.e. approximately Rs 27.5 crore. This amount was earmarked for the team that won the tournament.

Usually, this amount received from ICC is first given to the Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI. The board then distributes this amount to the players and support staff in the form of bonuses, match fees and other rewards. Many times BCCI also announces a separate bonus after a big win.

New Zealand got runner-up prize

These teams were given an amount of 3.8 lakh dollars i.e. approximately Rs 3.48 crore. Reaching Super-8 is also considered an important achievement for any team because for this teams have to perform strongly in the group stage.

Amount also given to the teams eliminated from the group stage

This time ICC decided to financially incentivize all the 20 teams participating in the tournament. For this reason, prize money was also given to the teams that were out of the group stage.

Teams like Afghanistan, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Namibia, Nepal, Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, UAE and America were given $2.5 lakh i.e. approximately Rs 2.3 crore.

Sanju Samson became Player of the Tournament

Indian batsman Sanju Samson, who performed brilliantly throughout the tournament, was chosen Player of the Tournament. He batted consistently throughout the tournament and played an important role in Team India’s victory.

In the final match, Sanju Samson played a brilliant inning of 89 runs in 46 balls. His innings helped India reach a big score and completely changed the course of the match. His aggressive play and confident batting were also praised by cricket experts.
