T20 World Cup 2026: India defeated England in a thrilling match and entered the final, now there will be a title clash with New Zealand.

Thanks to the excellent performance of the bowlers after the stormy batting of Sanju Samson (89), Shivam Dubey (43) and Ishan Kishan (39), India entered the final by defeating England by seven runs in a thrilling match of the second semi-final of the T-20 World Cup on Thursday. Sanju Samson received the ‘Player of the Match’ award.
Chasing the difficult target of 254 runs, England did not have a good start and lost two wickets at the score of 38. Phil Salt (five) and captain Harry Brook (seven) were out after scoring runs. Varun Chakraborty gave India its third success by dismissing Jos Buttler in the sixth over. Jos Buttler scored 25 runs in 17 balls, hitting four fours and a six. After this, Tom Batten (17) was bowled out by Akshar Patel.
After this, Will Jacques increased India’s worries by adding an explosive 77 runs for the fifth wicket with Jacob Bethel. Arshdeep broke this partnership by dismissing Will Jacques in the 14th over. Will Jacques scored 35 runs in 20 balls, hitting four fours and two sixes. Hardik once again turned the tide of the match by dismissing Sam Curran (18) on the third ball of the 19th over.
In the last over, Shivam Dubey’s first ball gave a big blow to England’s hopes by running out Jacob Bethel. Jacob Bethel played an inning of 105 runs in 48 balls, hitting eight fours and seven sixes. The England team could score only 246 runs for seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs and lost the match by seven runs. Joffra Archer scored unbeaten 19 runs hitting three sixes in the last over. Hardik Pandya took two wickets for India. Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Varun Chakraborty and Arshdeep Singh dismissed one batsman each.
