T20 World Cup 2026: One rain washed away the World Cup dream of 3 teams, out of the tournament together
Friends, the T20 World Cup 2026 being hosted by India and Sri Lanka is becoming very exciting, yesterday a rain washed away the dream of three teams of reaching Super 8, after the Group D match between New Zealand and Canada in Chennai, in a dramatic incident three teams were eliminated from the competition.
Before this match, South Africa had secured their place in the Super 8 by topping the table from Group D. New Zealand’s emphatic 8-wicket win over Canada ensured their qualification as the second team from the group.
Due to this, the remaining three teams of Group D — Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates, and Canada were eliminated from the race for the Super 8. After this important result, their hopes of progressing in the tournament were dashed.
The picture has become clear in Group C also. Both the West Indies cricket team and the England cricket team have successfully qualified for the Super 8 stage.
Meanwhile, Scotland National Cricket Team, Italy National Cricket Team and Nepal National Cricket Team were eliminated, ending their journey in the tournament at the group stage.
