T20Is World Record: Bhutan’s bowler Soman Yeshe created a sensation in T20 cricket, created history by taking the most wickets in a match.

Yeshle has registered his name in the record books by taking eight wickets in the T20 match. Before him, no bowler had taken so many wickets in a match.

Bhutan’s 22-year-old left-arm spinner Yashley destroyed Myanmar’s top order and took eight wickets for seven runs in his four overs for the first time in the shortest format of the game. Due to his brilliant bowling, Myanmar was all out for 45 runs while chasing the target of 127 runs. Bhutan won the T20I series 5-0 and the 22-year-old took 13 wickets in the series. Yeshe took three wickets in his T20I debut against Malaysia in 2022 and since then he has not looked back, taking 38 wickets in 35 matches.

Six bowlers have taken seven wickets in T20I cricket, including two in men’s cricket and four in women’s cricket. Indonesia’s Rohmalia has the best performance in women’s T20I cricket of seven wickets without conceding any runs against Mongolia in 2024, while the previous best performance in men’s international cricket was by Syajrul Idras who took seven wickets for 8 runs for Malaysia against China.
