But on an average 80 students commit suicide every day in the country, and now this thing has become so common that people have started considering it as normal. His statement touches the heart and points towards this serious problem going on in the society. Taapsee also said that such incidents are happening with girls of 6 to 7 years of age. But the big thing is that rape has become so common that it has been normalized.

This entire incident took place in January 2026, when this 18-year-old girl, who was a resident of Jahanabad district, was found in an unconscious state in Shambhu Girls Hostel in Chitragupt Nagar area of ​​Patna. She was immediately admitted to a private hospital, but there she remained in a coma for several days and died on January 11. Initially the police termed it as suicide due to overdose of sleeping pills, but the postmortem report and forensic investigation (FSL report) revealed some very serious things. Traces of semen were found on the girl’s clothes, there were injury marks on the body and sexual violence was confirmed.

Investigation of the matter is going on

The family alleged that it was a case of rape followed by murder and the police were trying to hide it. This matter created a huge outrage in entire Bihar. People took to the streets, hashtags like #JusticeForNEETAaspirant started trending on social media. The family also demonstrated at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. After so much pressure, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar requested the Central Government to hand over the investigation to CBI, so that the truth comes out in a fair and transparent manner. This case was transferred to CBI at the end of January. In February 2026, the CBI team reached the hostel, went to the girl’s house, met the family, talked to neighbors and villagers. The investigation is still going on and many police officers have also been suspended.
