‘Tagdi practice karwayi’: Gill after facing Pant’s spin in nets at Green Park – WATCH

New Delhi: It is always a treat to watch a cricket game when a batter or a wicketkeeper turns into bowling, trying new things out all while in the middle of the match. Many in the Indian cricket team have done it earlier, including legendary MS Dhoni as well. As the team practiced in Kanpur on Thursday ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh, Rishabh Pant got hold of the red ball and rolled his arm over to mate Shubman Gill in the nets.

Pant bowled leg spin to Gill as seen in a humorous video shared by the BCCI on “X” (formerly Twitter). The video started with KL Rahul asking Pant if he had bowled in the recently concluded Delhi Premier League 2024 to which he replied, “Aur kya, ek hi run chahiye tha (What else, just a run was required).” Pant bowled to Gill while having his batting pads on and seemed to enjoy the practice as he exclaimed, “Kya beat karaya yaar (What a beat it was).”

Gill, after walking off the nets, gave his final verdict saying – “Tagdi practice karwayi thi tune, Rishabh (It was a great practice, Rishabh).” A black soil pitch will reportedly be used for the five-day game which is expected to showcase low bounce and spin-friendly characteristics.
