Taiwan semiconductor career event to connect Vietnamese talent with global firms

As the global demand for AI and advanced chips skyrockets, Taiwan and Vietnam are forging a powerful partnership to cultivate the next generation of semiconductor leaders. From top-tier academic training to high-impact career opportunities, this initiative bridges the gap between Hanoi’s brightest minds and the industry’s most influential giants.

This program has achieved significant milestones through its annual missions across Vietnam’s key tech hubs. Following the impactful events in Ho Chi Minh City in 2023 and 2025, which successfully tapped into the talent pool of Southern Vietnam, and the highly acclaimed 2024 session in Hanoi, this platform has proven instrumental in bridging the gap between talent and opportunity. Past participants have successfully secured career placements at leading Taiwanese firms and obtained prestigious scholarships for advanced research at top-tier universities.

This year, the 2026 Taiwan Semiconductor Career Day, scheduled from May 14 to 16, will bring together companies including MediaTek, Realtek, Micron Taiwan, UMC, VIS, SPIL, and PTI and universities such as National Taiwan University (NTU), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), National Tsing Hua University (NTHU), National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), and I-Shou University (ISU) here in Vietnam.

The event will be held at three venues: the University of Science under Vietnam National University (VNU-HUS), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST) on May 14-15, and Pullman Hotel, where sessions are reserved for experienced professionals on May 16.

Unlike conventional hiring processes that rely on online applications, the program is designed to facilitate direct, small-group discussions between candidates and representatives from companies and universities.

Participants will be able to join personalized sessions to present their skills and receive feedback from recruiters and academic advisors.

The event includes two main tracks:

– Career track: Candidates can discuss job opportunities, working environments, and living conditions in Taiwan with company representatives.

– Academic track: Participants can receive guidance from university professors on scholarships, research directions, and postgraduate programs.

Organizers say the format is intended to help candidates better understand career pathways and reduce uncertainty often associated with standard recruitment processes.

By bringing together industry and academia, the event aims to provide a broader view of opportunities in the semiconductor sector, from education to employment and to provide a platform for Vietnamese STEM students and professionals to connect more directly with the global semiconductor industry.
