Lawrence Bishnoi's cousin Ramesh Bishnoi has said that the entire Bishnoi community stands with the jailed gangster over the black buck incident involving Bollywood star Salman Khan. In an interview with NDTV, Ramesh alleged that Salman Khan had offered money to the Bishnoi community, but they refused to take it.
Lawrence Bishnoi is a gangster who faces several charges and is currently lodged in Sabarmati jail in Gujarat. Salman Khan reportedly received death threats from Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang on several occasions after the black buck incident.
Salman Khan was accused of hunting blackbuck – which is considered sacred by the Bishnoi community. News agency PTI reported on August 30 that Lawrence Bishnoi said in an interview given to a TV channel in 2023 that Salman Khan had insulted the Bishnoi community by killing the black buck.
Lawrence's cousin Ramesh told NDTV that Salman Khan had earlier also offered money to the Bishnoi community. “His father Salim Khan said the Lawrence gang is doing this for money. I would like to remind him that his son brought a check book to the community with the instruction to fill in the numbers and take it away. If we were hungry for money, we would have taken it at that time.
'The blood of every Bishnoi was boiling…'
Lawrence's cousin Ramesh said that when the black buck incident happened, every member of the Bishnoi community was angry. He said the community is ready to make sacrifices to save animals.
Ramesh said- “When Salman Khan killed the black buck, the blood of every Bishnoi was boiling. We left it to the court to decide. But if the community was made fun of, it is natural for the society to be angry. Today, The entire Bishnoi community stands with Lawrence in this matter.”
Threat to kill Salman Khan
On April 24 this year, Navi Mumbai Police had registered a case against 18 identified and other unidentified members of the Bishnoi gang for conspiring to murder Salman Khan at his farmhouse in Panvel near Mumbai.
The incident occurred after members of the Bishnoi gang opened fire outside the actor's Bandra residence in Mumbai.
Security has been tightened at the residence of Bollywood actor Salman Khan after he received death threats. A ransom of Rs 5 crore has been demanded in the threatening message.
According to Mumbai Police, “A threatening message has come on the WhatsApp number of Mumbai Traffic Police, demanding Rs 5 crore from actor Salman Khan to end his old rivalry with Lawrence Bishnoi.”
The sender of the message had claimed, “Don't take it lightly, if Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the feud with Lawrence Bishnoi, he will have to pay Rs 5 crore. If the money is not given, Salman Khan His condition will be worse than that of Baba Siddiqui.”
A few days later, the Mumbai Traffic Police received an apology from a mobile phone number that was earlier used to send threatening messages demanding Rs 5 crore from Salman Khan, PTI quoted officials as saying.
