‘Taking law into one’s hands cannot be tolerated’: Sayoni Ghosh warns on mob lynching
Lok Sabha MP Sayoni Ghosh, who rebelled against Trinamool Congress and supported NDA, has become active again after a long silence of about a month. Being active on her official ‘X’ account for the first time since June 8, Sayoni has spoken on the heart-wrenching incident that took place in Baruipur, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal. He has also spoken to Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari on this issue over phone.
Expressed displeasure over disgusting incident with minor
Sayoni Ghosh has strongly condemned the gruesome incident that happened with a minor girl in Surjapur, Baruipur. “I strongly condemn this despicable incident and stand in full solidarity with the victim’s family,” she said. The MP clarified that being the representative of Baruipur, she will submit the report of this entire matter in writing to the Chief Minister and her first priority is to provide all possible help to the victim’s family.
Got assurance of justice from CM Shubhendu Adhikari
Referring to the conversation she had with Chief Minister Subhendu Adhikari after the incident, Sayoni Ghosh said that the CM had assured her to personally monitor the matter. He said, “The Chief Minister told me that arrests have started and an SIT has been formed to investigate the case. He himself is in touch with the bereaved family and has assured that the culprits will not be spared under any circumstances and justice will be served at the earliest.” Sayoni has also thanked the Chief Minister for the prompt action.
Sayoni bluntly talks about crowd frenzy and law and order
Sayoni Ghosh has given a strong reaction on what happened in Baruipur after the incident. He clarified that no one has the right to take the law into their hands. Sayoni said, “Law and order should be maintained, there is no place for mob lynching in a civilized society. Taking law into one’s hands is absolutely unacceptable and strict action should be taken against it.” He has appealed to the people to maintain peace and said that he is in constant touch with Baruipur SP so that the victim gets justice.
What is the whole incident of Baruipur?
It is noteworthy that in Baruipur of South 24 Parganas district, the body of an 11-year-old girl, who had gone missing a day before, was found packed in a sack. Angered by this incident, the local people created a ruckus, blocked the roads and damaged police vehicles. The mob caught a man accused of rape and murder and beat him to death. According to the police, four people have been arrested so far in this case.
