Edappadi Palaniswami accuses DMK of corruption, announces increase in pension to Rs 2,000

New Delhi.
All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has made several big promises while releasing its manifesto for the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Party general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami presented this manifesto at the party headquarters in Chennai. In the manifesto, AIADMK has announced that if it comes to power, women heads of families holding rice ration cards will be given free refrigerators. Apart from this, education loan waiver has also been promised to provide relief to students and youth.

The party has assured to increase the social security pension for the elderly and other beneficiaries to Rs 2,000 per month. AIADMK says that these steps will be taken with the aim of making the weaker sections of the state economically stronger.

Releasing the manifesto, Palaniswami launched a scathing attack on the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). He alleged that during the tenure of the present government, corruption has become an organized system and the rule of commission and extortion is running in Chennai. Meanwhile, Palaniswami will campaign in Chennai and surrounding areas for three days from March 25. As per his schedule, he will hold public meetings in many areas including Mylapore, Alandur, Tambaram, RK Nagar and Thiruvotriyur. After this he will also visit Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi and Thoothukudi districts. Through these announcements, AIADMK has set the target of returning to power in the state and has intensified its election campaign.
