Before meeting Chief Minister MK Stalin, Selvaperunthagai met Chidambaram and after the talks, both went to the CM’s house. The meeting is taking place in the backdrop of ongoing talks for a seat-sharing agreement between the parties in the DMK-led alliance. Amid rumors of a rift between the alliance partners ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Selvaperunthagai on Monday clarified that an agreement on seat sharing between the Congress and DMK will be reached after talks, and there is no confusion between the two parties.
The state Congress chief said, “There are talks in every election, and every party will demand more seats, and eventually some agreement will be reached. Same will happen here. We are asking for a few more seats, and some agreement will be reached.” He said, “The DMK and Congress, INDIA alliance, is a natural alliance, an ideological alliance. Where is the disagreement? In every election, all parties, even small parties, demand more seats. Whatever we need, we will demand. Our Chief Minister, Stalin, will definitely think about it. There is no problem; everything is going well.”
