Chief Minister Stalin objected to this and asked why when a line from the Tamil anthem was left in front of the Governor, why did he not immediately condemn it. The Chief Minister asked the Governor, “You say you sing 'Tamil Thai Valthu' with full devotion, but when the singers omitted a line related to Dravid, why did you not immediately condemn it?”

In this regard, the Governor's office refuted the allegation and his media advisor Thirugnana Sambandam said that it happened by mistake and the Governor had no hand in it. According to him, at the beginning of the program the team of singers had inadvertently left out the word Dravid. He said that this should be immediately brought to the notice of the organizers and called it a common mistake.

Let us inform you that in a function organized last Friday on the conclusion of Hindi Month at the Tamil office of Doordarshan, when a group was presenting the song 'Tamil Thai Valthu', the people in the group unknowingly forgot to sing one line of it. The Governor also participated in this function. Doordarshan Kendra, however, gave an explanation and apologized.

The inadvertently omitted line from the Tamil national anthem is “Thekkanam Adhil Sirantha Dravida Naal Thiru Naadum”, which refers to the greatness of the Dravidian land in the Deccan. Stalin reacted strongly to the Governor's reply on the issue, saying, “You had said that unfortunately for a Chief Minister to make racist remarks by making false allegations against the Governor is a poor thing, but Mr. Governor, Tamil is our caste, our way of life.” Is the basis.”

In this regard, the Chief Minister said in a post on the social media platform 'X', “Tamils sacrificed their lives for the Tamil language and this land also laid the foundation of the first constitutional amendment.”

On the Governor's claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi took Tamil to the United Nations, Stalin questioned the issue of what the Modi government has done for the Tamil language. He said that the Central Government has been continuously providing huge funds for the promotion of Sanskrit. The Chief Minister claimed that the Center was imposing Hindi on non-Hindi speaking states.

He asked, “If the BJP-led government's love for Tamil is true, then what has stopped the government from declaring the Tamil text Thirukkural as the national text?” “If you (Ravi) want to continue as governor, I request you to free yourself from divisive forces and perform your duties as per constitutional norms,” he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said he did not want to make the controversy a big issue as Doordarshan had apologised. When Udhayanidhi was asked for his comments, he told reporters, “He has apologized, let's see the rest.” (with agency input)
